First major winter storm of the season.

By: NEwxguy , 2:22 PM GMT on February 27, 2012

So it took until the end of Feb. and the start of March to finally get a snowstorm.Everything is set up for a fairly significant snowfall starting Wednesday and through Thursday.Actually dealing with two systems, with Thursday the larger of the two.Wednesday may start as some rain for eastern portions, but should turn to snow.
We have a large high to our northeast setting up to pull cold air into this system,so most areas should be snow.Still a few days to nail down the details.
Strong winds on Saturday caused some minor damage around the area.
Academy awards last night, who would have thought a silent movie would win it all,but then the acedemy seems to like the unsual, not necessarily the fan favourite.

Alrighty then...just able to get on here now and say hi! Looks like this storm Tues/Weds and thru the week pushing East, is going to affect pretty much most of the country before it is over.

It appears Chicago will stay on the rainy side of it, however maybe some mixed precip? far Northern IL (by my area)

Looking like we'll be in MO by the time it really hits, and then Wednesday, we will just wait it out a bit? I need to look at this better for Wednesday.

8 minutes and counting until I leave the office and officially say it is VACATION! Whoooo hooooo! See you all later tonight maybe after I pack and relax a bit.

NEw Good Tune!

Hi,Mass,a quiet little lamb would be nice to enter March, but this is different from any of the other storms, because this will have a good supply of cold air,so any mix will happen on Wednesday afternoon and then change to all snow, there may be a little break, but then early Thursday morning the next system will set in and this most likely will be all snow, but then again, nothing this winter has happened as expected we'll just have to see.

Hi NEw!

Breezing on by, after that windstorm on Saturday night into Sunday, and while taking a quick break today from yet another hectic schedule to post a friendly hello.

Hope your area didn't receive too much damage from some of those strong wind gusts over the weekend. Thankfully, our power stayed on and only a few large branches fell into the yard. I know that Windham, NH, which isn't too far from us, had power outages and large trees fall in places. I think we're officially old hands at dealing with some of these challenging weather systems.

I don't think this Weds. into Thursday's snow/rain mix will produce that much accumulation of snow. Most forecasts in my area predict about .7 to an inch if any. Heck, after last year, the outcome should be like swatting a fly. LOL! Hope that's the case, but we're prepared anyway. Once again, I guess March plans to remain typically roaring in like a lion and, hopefully, leaving as a nice warm soft lamb. I'd really be quite disappointed if it didn't. LOL!

Hope you and yours are doing well and your work load isn't too unbearable. Just think, daylight savings time is only less than two weeks away with spring's arrival in three! YIPPEEEE!!!!
