the battle of summer and fall

By: NEwxguy , 1:06 PM GMT on September 18, 2009

GM,to all, after a chilly morning this morning,43 deg.at 5 a.m.as soon as the sun came up the temp quickly started to recover.Headed for the mid 70's today, although with increasing w and sw winds ahead of the approaching cold front, won't feel as nice as it sounds.
As we approach the end of Sept. and with Oct. comes the battle of warm and cold airmasses. It means we get those brief warmups followed by a CFP which brings the chill. Now is when you start to watch the developement of coastal lows, although you really don't see any major storms until mid Oct onward.
I love the fall with the changing weather, the fall colors which I think are going to brighter than in recents years due to the large amount of rain this year. Those warm fall days after a chilly morning.Just a nice time of the year.It seems to be the most popular time of the year for people in the northeast.
Summer ends calendarwise on Tuesday at 5:18 p.m,although we should have summerlike weather at that time.

Things seem to be quiet around the blogs today, get the feeling people have started their weekend already.
Also a product of quiet weather,as much as people in the main blog are trying to hype up ex-Fred and 98L,neither at this time look like they have much future unless the environment and the track change. As we all no nothing is a guarantee in weather,so always keep an eye on systems.

interesting watching the showers associated with the front comeing south,as soon as they enter vermont, they dry up,so really don't expect much with this frontal passage.

What a coincidence--the low here was 44 at 5AM and it has recovered to the same 59 you currently have. Wish I could expect 70 this afternoon though, maybe 65 at best...

Happy TGIF :-)
