cold morning!!!

By: NEwxguy , 12:55 PM GMT on April 07, 2011

It was 25 degrees this morning,so our cold air hangs on.Afternoons recover into the mid 50's,but with a gusty wind,it doesn't feel it.Looking forward to Monday when we get into to the 70's,just for one day,but I'll take it.
I would also take a RedSox win.Looking really bad.Not this team that all the experts were expecting to be in the World Series. One of 3 teams that still haven't won.The other two being Tampa Bay and Houston. It sure is lonely at the bottom.I guess I'll just have to concentrate on the hockey and basketball teams who will be starting their playoffs shortly.

Mass,I saw that too,0-6.How can such a highly paid, much talented team, look so bad.And john lester pitched so good.Oh well,I've got the hockey and basketball playoffs to watch,so maybe by the time their over, the baseball team will have decided to show up.

Hi again NEw ~

The sun's shining brightly our way and, like you, the temps have also reached a high of 52F degrees.

I just checked the MLB sports widget on my site and did a double take. The Sox just lost another one to Cleveland in a game that started just after noon time today! They're now 0-6!!! If they keep this up, I don't think there will be a rush for overpriced tickets in the foreseeable future.

Well, let's hope the Celts can miraculously pull out a win over the Bulls tonight! Beantown needs to get something going in the right direction to help lift the spirits!

Hi,Looking and Mass, great to hear from you both.We are certainly not alone in our wish for warm temps
Although the warmups are brief in April, they are much appreciated,as we slooooowly make our way toward summer.
Looking, thats great volunteer work, lets hope your pizza party is the luck that gets these guys going. My wifes relatives are buried in Mt Auburn, its a beautiful cemetery, but so big,I always get lost in there.

Good Morning NEw and Sheslooking UP!

New ~ Sorry that this year's Red Sox team seems to be breaking the wrong kind of records thus far. I watched some of the re-cap on the news last night and noticed that, even their veteran catcher, Varitek, seemed unusually dazed and confused while allowing a run to score at home plate. A strange mojo is going on with them this year and I'm sure glad that I'm not financially invested as a season ticket holder. Their season opener, at Fenway tomorrow, against the dreded Yankees no-less, will probably bring much precipitation of the tear-duct kind when all is said and done. LOL!

As I mentioned earlier on my blog site, it suddenly dawned on me why the Red Sox pitchers seem discombobulated and lost ... I had forgotten that Head Pitching Coach, John Farrell, left to become Manager of the Toronto Blue Jays. It seems to have impacted the rest of the team as well.

On a more hopeful and brighter note, I sure hope that those warmer temps finally arrive on Sunday and, at the very least, we can have record-breaking warmth to bask and celebrate in on Monday! We sure need something to help us break out of these leftover winter doldrums and depressing news. UGH!

Hope that your remaining work week moves swiftly by without serious incident and a much more promising weekend lays in store for all of us!

SHE ~ Great to hear from you again on NEw' site and hope that you and your friends are able to have an enjoyable Pizza Party this weekend. It's wonderful how your volunteer work is helping to preserve a special history for those families whose ancestral forebearers have increasingly slipped from mind and view. I bet some of the century old headstone inscriptions are quite fascinating!

Hope you're doing increasingly well and I can relate, somewhat, to your "slothful carcass" comment below. LOL! After an arduously long cold winter, it's hard to get physically hyped when stuck indoors facing the same old walls day in and day out. Here's to warmer days bringing more enjoyable outdoor activities!

OMG it's supposed to be in the SEVENTIES on the weekend? I'm not sure if I can take it! There's lots of yard work to be done and that will be perfect for it--if I can get my slothful carcass out there to do it.
I volunteer at Mount Auburn Cemetery (in a project to record fading inscriptions on 150 year old marble monuments), and we volunteers are invited to a pizza party for Opening Day. In one of the chapels, no less--so I will be offering up fervent thoughts of victory. Perhaps the chapel part will cancel out the cemetery part, which might not bode well for the team. Here's hoping!
Enjoy the gorgeous weather, everybody--maybe sneak an outdoor lunch break.
