Chilly mornings and cool days seem to be the forecast for the first part of this week.Probably won't get out of the 40's tomorrow. Then the week end's warm and wet.Hopefully the showers hold off until after trick or treating. Then this weekend we move back into cool below normal weather.
Still looking for a strong system late Thursday into Friday.Much warmer temps on Friday and Saturday, before we cool down again Sunday into next week.
A quick burst of warm air rushes in for tomorrow and Friday.Friday actually will get into the 70's,but there will also be some heavy showers and strong winds.
Well,I had to get away from weather for a little while after a happy ending to the baseball season.Congrats to the Redsox,a bunch of very likeable guys that overcame great pitching to grind it out.So many story lines to this season.A very special championship season.
So we start off the new month with some wild and warm weather.Currently strong winds buffeting us before a strong cold front comes through with heavy showers and strong wind gusts.Temps into the 70's and dewpoints in the 60's.Sharp drop off in temps starting Sunday.

For many here in eastern New England growing season is still on.Most of my sensitive plants are still growing, but that all comes to and end the last half of this week,as really cold air moves in.Couple more days in the 60's today and tomorrow, and then a strong cold front moves through tomorrow afternoon, and temps will drop significantly.Have to watch a coastal storm on Wednesday on how strong it gets and how close it gets to New England.
With the World Series starting on Wednesday night, this may play a factor.
After being in such a mild pattern for most of October, the cold temps headed our way starting tomorrow are going to be a big shock.Except for a briefly warmer this weekend, the rest of October should be much below normal, most days struggling to get into the 50's,but still remaining mostly dry except for couple of light precip events along the way.
So our days of 60's has come to an end, from here on out, probably won't see much of the 60's except for an occasional brief warm before a front comes through.Expecting chilly mornings also.
Cold temps continue, with slight warmup over the weekend and then even colder weather for first half of next week.

One of those strange holidays, where half the people are off and half aren't.If you work for any government or schools or banks you have off,the business sector is working.Still having nice fall weather, but so very dry.Next chance of any rain is late Wednesday into Wednesday night, need some rain badly.
We've reached the middle of the month and still no mornings below freezing,my temps reached 33 degrees yesterday morning.May get some below freezing next week,as some pretty chilly air plunges down from Canada.
Morning was socked in with dense fog this morning, which has since lifted. With lots of moisture in the air and temps dropping into the 40's,and no wind, perfect conditions for fog.Going to stay mild the rest of the week, then cool down for the weekend.Still looks to get very chilly sometime next week.
Actually tomorrow is suppose to be up around 70 also, then we start the slide down in temps.Middle of next week we really slide down,or I should say drop.
After watching everyone bundled up in Detroit last night, its obvious, you have to be hardy sports fans this time of year.We know football fans don't care about the weather, but baseball is different cold temps can effect the play.Harder for pitchers to get stretched, they have to keep themselves warm between innings and players have to keep stretched so their muscles don't tighten up.From here on out weather gets colder. With the world series starting next week and a very cold pattern setting in,the cold is going to be a factor, for the teams, depending on who gets in.For the American League both teams Boston and Detroit will be cold.

So its hump day,the good news is this is my first day of work this week.Gotta do these long weekends more often.
So weatherwise the weekend had mixed review, yesterday was probably the best day out of the four days.Except for Saturday, not washout.Saturday pretty much rained off and on most of the day.
East coast is watching the coastal low, which is the leftover moisture from Karen.Low pressure forming, and will creep northward, but high pressure will keep most of the effects south of us,with fringe effects for southern new england, biggest impact will be south coast.Due to blocking this low is going to be around for into next week.
It looks like our coastal storm is going to only effect New England with fringe effects mainly along Conn. and RI and Cape Cod,but it reminds us that we are entering the nor'easter season. With the condition of our coastal areas that got hammered last year,it will be watched with nervousness and dread. They can only hope and pray the storms are not extremely strong and damage further our coastal community.
Short week is done.Almost half way through October, and now big weather stories in our area. The long dry quiet weather continues.Started about the last week in July.Temps have been on the cool side although nothing extreme and still no major rainfall. So far October continues the below normal rainfall that has been going on for several months now. We'll have to watch the last half of the month, which has been the time period of major weather events for us over the last sevearal years. There is suppose to be a pattern change and it may become active by then.
Colors are starting to come on,about 30% color and so far colors are very bright, with oranges and golds standing out.Optimistic about our foliage this year.
So clouds have ruled most of this weekend, but seem to be clearing out for the night, which should bring on some cold temps tonight. But looks to be warmer than normal temps most of this week, with a cold front moving through around Thursday. We may be heading into much cooler pattern as we approach the end of October.
