April 2014 Forecast for Alberta, Sask, and Manitoba

March 2014 finished off 4C below normal with well above normal snowfall.

April begins the same way march did. with brutal cold making for the first time since 1960 we have had -20C frigid cold in April for two consecutive years. This only the 4th April to have been this cold. April of 1975,1982, and 2013 being the other frigid Aprils.

April 2014 Forecast
Issued 11.42am Tuesday April 1st

Overall April will be yet another month of colder than normal temperatures, snowstorms, and blizzards.
There may be a hint of near normal in Southern Alberta though.

April 1-10: Slow warm up in Alberta, remaining cold elsewhere.

April 10-20: Heavy snow, possible blizzard in eastern parts of Manitoba. Chilly but dry elsewhere.

April 20-30: Warm in Alberta, dry. Still snowy in Parts of Manitoba and Sask.
