Friday, Saturday, and Sunday saw record setting warm temperatures for the Upper Midwest USA. In the Twin Cities of Minnesota at Flying Cloud Airport we saw 82 degree days for Friday and Saturday and 81 for Sunday setting 3 new high temperature records here in the South Metro. The average temps are 36, 37, and 38 respectively. Not only have we had one of the warmest Winters on record, we just had the the warmest end to Winter on record in Minnesota.
Check out Dr. Masters blog Nation's Icebox basks in 77┬░F warmth were he even talks about a major record breaking temperature in International Falls in Northern Minnesota just this side of the Canadian border. International Falls has the distinction of being the 'Ice Box of the Nation'. A title well earned at that entire region of Minnesota has some of coldest temperatures on record for the USA. They set new temperature records on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of 71, 77, and 79 degrees. The normal temperatures are 35, 35, and 36 respectively. I mean that they should still be at or just above freezing yet they got just as warm as we did in the Twin Cities on Sunday. Can you see the folks up there coming outside dressed for Winter cold to only to be faced with Summer time weather? This just ain't normal my friends. Dr. Masters has some interesting things to say about the weather across the USA today because of these extremes in his blog Tornadoes, extreme flooding, unprecedented heat expected in U.S. today.

Time to put on the helmets, buckle up and batten down the hatches people. It's going to be a wild ride this year.
