The Big Freeze Is Coming

By: MLJenkins , 1:53 AM GMT on January 01, 2014

Looks like early Thursday morning the snow will begin. It is still debatable whether this turns over to rain later Thursday and the back to snow in the evening. If so we could have a mess on the roads.

Thursday night into Friday will be terrible. The wind predictions for NWS are up to 26mph guests, with the temperature of 11F could put the windchill at right below 0F. The wind predictions this year have been on the high side, so we may not quite see that, but I guarantee early Friday morning will be miserable.

Come Monday we are in for another for another treat. The commute to work could be cold and slick. We should see temps in the single digits by then. Seems instead of the 3 dog night we might have to go with a 2 horse night.

Yes, those N winds do blow cold. I live in central Oklahoma and stopped in because I noticed your handle and then saw your picture, and you closely resemble some Jenkins folks I know whose family originally settled in Virginia. Maybe related way back or something. lol

Anyway, welcome to the blog side of wu. I don't know that you will get many people posting a comment that they are viewing your weather data, as you'd requested in your first blog, because a lot of people come to the wunderground site just to check a forecast and current conditions or to access data and do not get near the blog page. If you keep your blog active, though, a link to it shows up on the page every time someone searches for weather information and enters your zip code/town or one near you. Also, if you add a category or title that says "Salem, W VA" people may find you if they google for weather in Salem, W VA.

I have never made a weather sticker so I don't know if you can make a weather sticker for your station to put in your blog header or not. If you want to, there are lots of ways you can build your blog, though, using links and radar images, and stuff.

Have fun here. Best wishes to you and your family.

Ps. Pretty horse.
