Otto regains hurricane status; strengthening while it heads toward Central America

After briefly weakening to a tropical storm early on Wednesday morning, Otto has regained hurricane status, and continues to move steadily toward a landfall on the coast of southern Nicaragua and/or northern Costa Rica. As of the latest NHC advisory, the following information was posted on the hurricane:

Winds: 85 mph, gusting to 105 mph
Location: 11.2°N 82.4°W, or about 110 miles east-southeast of Bluefields, Nicaragua

Hurricane Otto continues to meander across the extreme southwestern Caribbean Sea. As of the latest NHC intermediate advisory (0000Z), the following information was given on this tropical cyclone:

Winds: 75 mph, gusting to 90 mph
Location: 10.6°N 79.7°W, or about 295 miles east-southeast of Bluefields, Nicaragua
Movement: W/275 degrees at 2 mph
Pressure: 987 mb

The persistent area of disturbed weather over the southwestern Caribbean Sea has finally become a tropical cyclone. As of the 2100Z NHC advisory, the following information was posted on Otto:

Winds: 50 mph, gusting to 65 mph
Location: 11.3°N 79.2°W, or about 315 miles east of Bluefields, Nicaragua
Movement: Stationary
Pressure: 1000 mb

The persistent area of disturbed weather that has been moving near the coast of southwestern Mexico for the last several days has finally become a tropical cyclone, albeit a highly sheared one. As of the first NHC advisory on this system, the following information was posted on this newly-birthed tropical storm:
