Good Morning! At Smithville, MS, the current temperature is 32 and it feels like 32. Highs will continue to range between 49 and 71 with lows between 27 and 55. There is a 60% chance of showers next Saturday and Sunday. At the Regional Rehab Center in Tupelo, MS, the current temperature is 35 and it feels like 35. Todays high is 62 with a low of 41. Saturdays high is 63.
Now, for your severe/winter weather update for the Southeast Region. Could see winter weather potential around the 12th-14th. Could see severe weather potential around the 19th-23rd.
Now, for your tropical update. In the Atlantic and Eastern Pacific, all is quiet with no development expected over the next couple of days. In the Western Pacific, Super Typhoon Haiyan has winds of 165mph and gusts of 200mph with a pressure of 920hPa. Movement is West at 25mph. Haiyan is now crossing the Philippines and is expected to enter into the South China Sea later today. Is expected to maintain category 4 intensity as it heads towards the Northern part of Vietnam by early Sunday morning. By early next week, it will continue to weaken to a tropical storm/depression over land as it turns North and heads up into China.
