Good Morning! At Smithville, MS, the current temperature is 48 and it feels like 48. Highs will continue to range between 54 and 73 with lows between 34 and 44. There is no rain expected over the next few days. At the Regional Rehab Center in Tupelo, MS, the current temperature is 45 and it feels like 38. Todays high is 60 and a low of 37 with winds out of the North at 18mph with higher gusts. Fridays high is 63.
Now, for your severe/winter weather update for the Southeast Region. Could see severe weather potential around the 16th-19th.
Now, for your tropical update. In the Atlantic and Eastern Pacific, all is quiet with no development expected over the next couple of days. In the Western Pacific, Super Typhoon Haiyan is bearing down on the Philippines with only a few hours left until landfall. Winds are at 175mph with a pressure of 925mbars. Movement is West-Northwest at 21mph. Landfall is expected late tonight/early Friday. Haiyan is expected to enter the South China Sea by the weekend and weaken considerably to a category 2 storm before a final landfall in Vietnam by early Sunday morning.
