Good Morning! At Smithville, MS, the current temperature is 66 and it feels like 66. There is a 30% chance of isolated thunderstorms today and a 90% chance of strong storms tomorrow. Significant severe weather outbreak is likely late today into Thursday. Main threats will be for large hail, damaging winds up to 60mph, tornadoes, heavy rainfall of 1-3 inches with locally 3+ inches, and flash flooding. Dr. Greg Forbes, the severe weather expert at The Weather Channel, is giving MS a 3 on TOR:CON (Tornado Condition Index) for Wednesday/Wednesday night. This means that there is a 30% chance of seeing a tornado within a 50 mile radius. Timing of these storms will be from 6pm Wednesday evening to midnight for Western MS, from 10pm Wednesday night-5am Thursday morning for Central MS, and from 3am-10am Thursday morning for Eastern MS. Highs will continue to range between 66 and 85 with lows between 42 and 64. At the Regional Rehab Center in Tupelo, MS, the current temperature is 66 and it feels like 66. Todays high is 82 and a low of 65 with a 30% chance of isolated thunderstorms. Thursdays high is 66 with a 90% chance of thunderstorms.
Now, for your Severe Weather Update for the Southeast Region. There could be severe weather potential around April 15th-18th, and around April 21st-22nd.
