Good Morning! At Smithville, MS, the current temperature is 56 and it feels like 56. A Special Weather Statement is in effect for North MS concerning severe weather Wednesday into early Thursday morning. There is a slight chance of rain tomorrow. There is also a 30% chance of isolated thunderstorms on Wednesday and an 80% chance of rain on Thursday. Significant severe weather outbreak is possible Wednesday into Thursday. Main threats will be for large hail, damaging winds, isolated tornadoes, heavy rainfall of 1-3 inches with locally 3+ inches, and flash flooding. Dr. Greg Forbes, the severe weather expert at The Weather Channel, is giving West and North MS a 3-4 on TOR:CON (Tornado Condition Index) for Wednesday. This means that there is a 30-40% chance of seeing a tornado within a 50 mile radius. Highs will continue to range between 63 and 83 with lows between 41 and 62. At the Regional Rehab Center in Tupelo, MS, the current temperature is 54 and it feels like 54. Todays high is 75 with a low of 62. Tuesdays high is 78 with a slight chance of rain.
Now, for your Severe Weather Update for the Southeast Region. There could be severe weather potential around April 16th-18th, and around April 20th-23rd.
