Good Morning! At Smithville, MS, the current temperature is 47 and it feels like 47. Highs will continue to range between 66 and 85 with lows between 41 and 57. There is a 60% chance of AM showers today. At the Regional Rehab Center in Tupelo, MS, the current temperature is 46 and it feels like 43. Todays high is 64 and a low of 42 with a 60% chance of AM showers. Tuesdays high is 71.
Now, for your tropical update. In the Atlantic, a trough of low pressure extending from the Southeastern Bahamas Northward over the Western Atlantic for a couple hundred miles is producing disorganized showers and thunderstorms. Upper-level winds are forecast to become less conducive for development as the trough moves Northwestward at about 10mph during the next day or two. The National Hurricane Center is giving this system a low chance, 10%, of becoming a tropical cyclone during the next 48 hours. Also, in the Atlantic, an elongated area of showers and thunderstorms over the tropical Atlantic about midway between the Coast of Africa and the Northeastern Coast of South America is associated with a weak area of low pressure and a tropical wave. Development, if any, of this disturbance is expected to be slow to occur as it moves Westward or West-Northwestward at 15 to 20mph during the next couple of days. The National Hurricane Center is giving this system a low chance, 10%, of becoming a tropical cyclone during the next 48 hours. In the Eastern Pacific, Tropical Storm Olivia has intensified some. Winds are at 60mph with a pressure of 999mbars. Movement is North at 5mph. Not a threat to land and should begin to weaken.
Hope yall are having a great Monday and I'll have another post tomorrow morning.
