Good Morning! At Smithville, MS, the current temperature is 73 and it feels like 73. Heat Advisory now in effect for North MS until 7pm Sunday night. Heat Index will range between 105 to 110 with higher index readings possible. Highs will continue to range between 91 and 104 with lows between 71 and 75. Rain chances come back into the picture by Tuesday through next Monday. These storms will be isolated and some could be strong to severe with large hail and gusty winds. At the Regional Rehab Center in Tupelo, MS, the current temperature is 76 and it feels like 76. Today’s high is 102 with a low of 77. Sundays high is 101.
Now, for your tropical update. In the Atlantic, a westward moving tropical wave that is located about 600 miles East of the Windward Islands. Showers and thunderstorms that were associated with the wave have diminished since yesterday. Environmental conditions are not conducive for significant development. The National Hurricane Center is giving this system a low chance, 10%, of becoming a tropical cyclone during the next 48 hours. Eastern Pacific remains quiet.
