Remaining hot and dry, Debby in Gulf

Good Afternoon! At Smithville, MS, the current temperature is 100 and it feels like 111. Highs will continue to range between 91 and 100 with lows between 65 and 73. At the Regional Rehab Center in Tupelo, MS, the current temperature is 96 and it feels like 96. Today’s high is 98 with a low of 71. Mondays high is 100.

Now, for your tropical update. In the Atlantic, Tropical Storm Debby formed late yesterday and continues to intensify and move slowly. Winds are up to 60mph with a pressure of 993mbars. Movement is Northeast at 5mph. Expected to become a minimal hurricane by Wednesday. Forecast path has shifted toward Louisiana and parts of Mississippi/Alabama may get some much needed rain out of Debby, if this path holds. Tropical Storm Warnings in effect from Mouth of the Pearl River to Morgan City, Louisiana and from MS/AL border to Suwannee River, Florida. Tropical Storm Watch in effect for parts of Florida, too. Eastern Pacific remains quiet.
