Good Morning! At Smithville, MS, the current temperature is 66 and it feels like 66. Highs will continue to range between 94 and 99 with lows between 66 and 73. A few isolated storms are possible Friday. At the Regional Rehab Center in Tupelo, MS, the current temperature is 69 and it feels like 69. Today’s high is 94 with a low of 71. Saturdays high is 96.

Now, for your tropical update. In the Atlantic, Tropical Storm Chris is still hanging on, but is weakening after unexpectedly becoming a category 1 hurricane yesterday afternoon. Winds are down to 50mph with a pressure of 987mbars. Movement is Northwest at 14mph. Chris is no threat to the United States and should dissipate later today. A large low pressure system located just north of the Yucatan Peninsula is currently disorganized. However, the circulation is becoming better defined and surface pressures are falling across the area. Environmental conditions are expected to become conducive for a tropical depression to form in the next day or so. The National Hurricane Center is giving this system a high chance, 70%, of becoming a tropical cyclone during the next 48 hours. Heavy rain/flooding is likely across the Yucatan Peninsula, Western Cuba, and Southern Florida through Saturday. An Air Force Reserve Reconnaissance Aircraft is scheduled to investigate the system this afternoon, if necessary. In the Eastern Pacific, all is quiet.

Hope yall are having a great Friday and I'll have another post tomorrow. Continue to pray for the tornado victims and those affected by damaging weather events.
