Good Morning! At Smithville, MS, the current temperature is 39 and it feels like 39. Highs will continue to range between 68 and 79 with lows between 39 and 62. There is a 70% chance of thunderstorms on Monday. Few storms could be strong to severe on Monday, but at this time, the threat looks marginal. At the Regional Rehab Center in Tupelo, MS, the current temperature is 46 and it feels like 43. Todays high is 67 with a low of 40. Thursdays high is 74 with South-Southwest winds at 14mph with higher gusts.
Now, for your Severe Weather Update for the Southeast Region. Could see severe weather potential around April 21st-24th.
Now, for your tropical update. In the Atlantic, all is quiet with no development expected over the next couple of days. In the Eastern Pacific, all is quiet with no development expected over the next couple of days. In the Western Pacific, Tropical Depression Peipah has winds of 35mph, gusting to 45mph, with a pressure of 1000mbars. Movement is Northwest at 5mph. Is expected to become a weak tropical storm briefly late Thursday/early Friday and make landfall in the Philippines early Saturday through Sunday as a tropical depression. Not expected to become a typhoon. In the North Indian Ocean, all is quiet with no development expected over the next couple of days. In the Southern Hemisphere (South-West Indian Ocean Region), all is quiet with no development expected over the next couple of days. In the Southern Hemisphere (Australian Region), Severe Tropical Cyclone Ita has winds of 90mph, gusting to 115mph, with a pressure of 962mbars. Movement is West at 10mph. Is expected to become a category 2 storm by late today and then a category 3 storm by Thursday afternoon. Is expected to skirt along the Australian coastline over the weekend. In the Southern Hemisphere (South Pacific Region), no development is expected over the next couple of days.
