Good Morning! A Special Weather Statement is in effect for North MS concerning low temperatures in low teens to single digits for both Sunday and Monday nights. Mondays high will be in the teens with wind chill values below zero. At Smithville, MS, the current temperature is 20 and it feels like 11. Highs will continue to range between 26 and 62 with lows between 10 and 41. Coldest air in about 10 years or more coming next week. Potential for a hard freeze. There is a 70% chance of rain on Sunday. At the Regional Rehab Center in Tupelo, MS, the current temperature is 19 and it feels like 9. Todays high is 36 with a low of 23. Saturdays high is 48.
Now, for your Winter/Severe Weather Update for the Southeast Region. There could be winter weather potential around the 5th-13th.
Now, for your tropical update. In the Atlantic, all is quiet with no development expected over the next couple of days. In the Eastern Pacific, all is quiet with no development expected over the next couple of days. In the Western Pacific, all is quiet with no development expected over the next couple of days. In the North Indian Ocean, no development is expected over the next couple of days. In the Southern Hemisphere, Tropical Cyclone Bejisa has winds of 85mph with a pressure of 953mbars. Movement is South-Southeast at 9mph. Bejisa is expected to weaken to a tropical storm by early Saturday. No landfall is expected.
