Good Morning! At Smithville, MS, the current temperature is 38 and it feels like 33. Highs will continue to range between 42 and 55 with lows between 22 and 40. There is a 30% chance of a few showers on Thursday. At the Regional Rehab Center in Tupelo, MS, the current temperature is 36 and it feels like 28. Todays high is 39 with a low of 28 and cloudy. Tuesdays high is 50.
Now, for your severe/winter weather update for the Southeast Region. Could see winter weather potential around January 5th-14th.
Now, for your tropical update. In the Atlantic, all is quiet with no development expected over the next couple of days. In the Eastern Pacific, all is quiet with no development expected over the next couple of days. In the Western Pacific, all is quiet with no development expected over the next couple of days. In the North Indian Ocean, no development is expected over the next couple of days. In the Southern Hemisphere, Tropical Cyclone Christine has winds of 80mph with a pressure of 965mbars. Movement is South-Southwest at 9mph. Is expected to make landfall late this morning on the Australia coast. In the Southern Hemisphere, Severe Tropical Storm Bejisa has winds of 70mph with a pressure of 992mbars. Movement is South at 5mph. Bejisa is expected to become a category 1 storm by later today and then a category 2 by Wednesday. No landfall is expected as it will remain offshore of Madagascar.
