Good Morning! At Smithville, MS, the current temperature is 32 and it feels like 32. Highs will continue to range between 46 and 72 with lows between 27 and 62. There is a 50% chance of showers on Friday, a 50% chance of scattered thunderstorms on Saturday, and a 60% chance of thundershowers on Sunday. Some storms could be strong to severe Saturday into Sunday. Threats will be for large hail, damaging winds, isolated tornadoes, heavy rain of 1-3 inches with locally 3+, and flash flooding. Dr. Greg Forbes, severe weather expert at the Weather Channel, is giving West MS a 4 and East MS a 3 on TOR:CON (Tornado Condition Index) for Saturday. This means that there is a 30-40% chance of seeing a tornado within a 50 mile radius. At the Regional Rehab Center in Tupelo, MS, the current temperature is 36 and it feels like 32. Todays high is 59 with a low of 30. Wednesdays high is 56.

Now, for your tropical update. In the Atlantic, all is quiet with no development expected over the next couple of days. In the Eastern Pacific, all is quiet with no development expected over the next couple of days. In the Western Pacific, all is quiet with no development expected over the next couple of days. In the North Indian Ocean, no development is expected over the next couple of days. In the Southern Hemisphere, Moderate Tropical Storm Amara has winds of 40mph with a pressure of 995mbars. Movement is Northwest at 1mph. Is not a threat to land and could intensify over the next few days. Also, in the Southern Hemisphere, Tropical Low #03U has winds of 30mph with a pressure of 1000mbars. Is not a threat to land and could remain a weak system during the next few days.
