School Count Day

By: JanesVacation , 11:32 AM GMT on September 24, 2008

Send your kids to school in Michigan today. Students will be counted and state money will be distributed. Kids need to be in school!
Lows last night in the 60's will produce highs in the 80's this afternoon. This is not unusual September weather for us here in Holland.
The deer topped off all of my sunflowers yesterday. I went outdoors last night and looked at the row where at least a dozen yellow blooms had stood for the last 4-5 weeks and they were all gone. At least they ate the entire bloom - petals, seeds and all - nothing was wasted on the ground. The deer are eating the tomatoes and squash out of my parent's backyard garden. A ban on feed piles for the deer in Michigan is having an effect? I am not in favor of feed piles, so this is a small thing.
