I am a teacher and I enjoy living along Lake Michigan. It is a beautiful place that makes me feel like I am on vacation all year long!

I'll add this picture of the bouquet I picked from my garden. A fresh bunch of cosmos, hydrangea, rudbeckia, zinnia, snapdragon.
Wow, July begins tomorrow and it hardly seems like summer has even started here in the midwest. The weather has been cool and showery. It is much cooler than recent summers.
I took the picture of the pink peonies at my Mom and Dad's house a few weeks ago. They are heirloom stock from my Mom's aunt. Dad keeps them thriving year after year. I brought some home with me a couple of times, but our sandy soil and cool environment by the lake doesn't seem to agree with them. I'll post some pics from my garden soon, it is just beginning to thrive with roses, snapdragons and zinnias. My hydrangea bush has the best blooms ever this year. Smaller blooms than usual, but a beautiful array of colors (pink, blue, purple, greenish) on the same bush!

I took this photo yesterday as I was "practicing " for summer vacation! School is out on Friday, but I had a half day because of a school event that I was NOT required to attend. I came home at noon and worked in the garden and went for a long walk in the sunshine. It was great...can't wait for school to be over and start enjoying the lazy days of summer. the weather is fantastic with clear, cool nights and warm, sunny days.
Our daughter returned to Montreal. We hope to make the trip to see her in July. It was awesome to have her here for 6 weeks, but now it is time to get back to the bathroom renovation and some other projects I have in mind. Our glass shower enclosure arrives today and we have a double sink vanity sitting in our living room. There is definitely work to do!
