Today’s Mood: Good but was annoyed. How long does it take for a network television show to simply tell you who got more votes in a singing competition? Apparently just over two hours. As several newspapers noted (see links below), if you were watching the American Idol finale on your TiVo, DVR or VCR, the 2-hour recording stopped during the last commercial break before they announced the winner. You had to set your recording to tape it ten minutes past the normal end time to catch it. Seeing as how most people didn't think to do that, you had to either search for a video of it on You-Tube (which is how Lisa and I caught the ending) or catch the result on the news. This is almost as lame as arriving to work yesterday only to find that your computer's master boot record was accidentally wiped by an overnight patch, essentially turning it into an expensive paperweight!

Synopsis: Behind yesterday's cold front, which generated strong winds, very warm temperatures and some minor storm damage, we'll see cooler and less humid conditions today along with plenty of sunshine courtesy of a high pressure system centered in Iowa. Another storm system looks to move through tomorrow, but Sunday and Memorial Day should be dry.
