Wisconsin Weather Update for August 22, 2014.

By: HaleStorm , 1:00 PM GMT on August 22, 2014

Good Friday morning! Here’s your personally-researched weekend weather preview for east-central and southern Wisconsin:

Active Advisory: Dense fog advisory remains in effect until 10 am CDT this morning.

Forecast Summary: Areas of morning fog. Warm and humid with scattered thunderstorms through Tuesday. Tropical summer is here!

Scientific Synopsis: Very warm and humid air has moved in from the south and will create a tropical atmosphere around here through next week Tuesday. There’s a stalled area of low pressure in the Rockies, which will continue the flow of humid southerly air ahead of the low through early next week. Once this low finally moves through Tuesday, we will finally get some relief as cool air moves back in behind its cold front on Wednesday, but until then it’s swimming pools, air conditioners, and less complaining about how it never really got that warm this summer.

Conditions: Mostly cloudy, warm and humid. Areas of fog this morning. Isolated thunderstorms may pop up later today, but they aren’t likely.
Chance of Rain: 25%
High Temp: Near 83 east-central, mid- 80s south.
Dew Points: Upper 60s to lower 70s. (humid)
Winds: Mostly light from the southeast.

Raw Model Data: (combined numerical output range from three different NOAA weather models)
Appleton: Highs 78-82.
Madison: Highs 84-87.
Milwaukee: Highs 77-81.

Next Week’s Outlook:
