Forecast Summary: Scattered rain showers this afternoon through early tomorrow. Cooler tomorrow, then mild through Saturday.
Synopsis: A small disturbance in southwestern Minnesota this morning is producing a few scattered showers across eastern Minnesota, far southwestern Wisconsin and northern Iowa. As this moves to the east, look for these scattered showers to infect our area by later this morning or this afternoon, then linger around through tonight or early tomorrow morning. I’m not expecting a soaker with this system, but have an umbrella handy if you’re heading out later today or tonight. A much stronger storm system is in northern Mississippi this morning, but should miss us to the east.
Conditions: Mostly cloudy with scattered rain showers moving through later today. Chance of rain 50%.
High Temp: Near 55 today, so above normal for the second day in a row! Normal high is 50 (Green Bay), 54 (Madison).
Winds: A little breezy from the northwest.
Raw Model Data: (combined numerical output range from three different NOAA weather models)
Appleton: Highs 54-60.
Madison: Highs 58-60.
Milwaukee: Highs 49-52.
Conditions: Mostly cloudy with a few lingering rain showers. Chance of rain 25%.
Low Temp: Mid- 30s.
Synopsis: A strong area of low pressure finishes annoying the east coast, and high pressure begins to build into the Rocky Mountains and Plains regions. So look for a few breaks in the clouds as the day progresses. Northwesterly winds bring cooler air into our region too. Yay.
Conditions: Clouds with maybe one last rain shower early, then becoming partly sunny.
Temps: Cooler, highs in the upper 40s east-central, lower 50s south.
Winds: Breezy at times from the northwest.
Wednesday: Mostly cloudy and warmer again. Highs in the upper 50s east-central, lower 60s south.
Thursday: Mostly cloudy, maybe a rain shower? Chance of rain 25%. Highs in the upper 50s.
Friday: Partly sunny. Highs near 60.
Saturday: Cloudy, breezy and mild with rain showers. Chance of rain 50%. Highs in the low to mid- 60s.
Sunday: Partly cloudy and colder. Highs in the upper 40s to lower 50s. The colder air looks to stick around for most of next week too. Apparently this week’s mild temperatures were too good to last. Sorry.
