Forecast Summary: Light snow tonight, even colder tomorrow. Mix to rain Wed night and Thursday, warmer weekend.
Synopsis: High pressure centered over Wisconsin this morning is bringing us another morning of sunny, cold conditions. A cold front to our northwest is going to quickly sweep down into the far north-central U.S. later today, bringing us clouds this afternoon, light snow tonight, and even colder air tomorrow. Spring may have sprung a few days ago, but it isn’t going to feel like it for a few days yet.
Conditions: Morning sunshine with increasing clouds this afternoon. Flurries possible before sunset.
High Temp: Near 28.
Winds: Just a little breezy from the west.
Raw Model Data: (combined numerical output range from three different NOAA weather models)
Appleton: Highs 27-30.
Madison: Highs 31-34.
Milwaukee: Highs 29-30.
Conditions: Light snow likely. Maybe 1” of fresh accumulation.
Low Temp: Low to mid- teens.
Synopsis: Even colder air will move into Wisconsin behind tonight’s cold front, but a new area of high pressure will start moving in and should start clearing out the clouds later in the day. Milwaukee Brewers Opening Day is only one week away, and I have tickets to the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers opening day baseball game next week Thursday, so this cold air really has to end soon. And it might? (extended forecast spoiler!)
Conditions: Flurries ending, then hopefully some sunshine later.
Temps: Highs in the upper teens to near 20. That’s about 25 degrees below normal.
Winds: Windy from the northwest.
Wednesday: Increasing clouds, winds and temperatures. A mix of precip is likely Wednesday night. Highs near 30 east-central, mid- 30s south.
Thursday: Windy with rain likely, turning to light snow again late before ending. Highs near 40.
Friday: Partly sunny. Highs 35-40.
Saturday: Partly sunny and warmer. Highs in the 40s.
Sunday: Warmer with scattered showers. Heck, maybe even a thunderstorm? How about that? Highs in the 50s! The first half of next week looks warm too, so it won’t be a one-and-done like Duke’s basketball team last Friday.
