Rain with thunderstorms today. More storms late tomorrow and into Wednesday.
An upper-level disturbance currently in the eastern Dakotas and Minnesota is going to move through southern Wisconsin today. This is generating a blob of showers across much of the state this morning. As of now it seems southern Wisconsin may see a little more rain than northern or central Wisconsin, but we should all see some scattered rain today. Temps will stay cool with many of us not even reaching 70-degrees unless we’re indoors.
We should warm up tomorrow ahead of a cold front, which will generate more standard showers and thunderstorms tomorrow night and into Wednesday morning. As of now nothing severe is expected. And after Wednesday morning, the rest of our week and weekend look mostly dry and pleasant.
Weather Map of the Day
This four-panel 500mb vorticity map shows the upper-level disturbance in the Dakotas, moving southeast. This disturbance is not really that noticeable on any other map other than a precip map, but a surface map for tomorrow will show the low pressure system that will generate more storms tomorrow night.
