Wisconsin Weather Update for July 8, 2013.

By: HaleStorm , 12:42 PM GMT on July 08, 2013

Thunderstorms early this morning. More storms tomorrow. Warm and humid through tomorrow, then dry and cooler.
A round of thunderstorms is waking most of us ahead of our alarm clocks this morning. Once these pass, we should be dry for the rest of the day, other than an isolated storm that may develop later this afternoon. More storms are expected tomorrow as a cold front passes through, and some of these storms could be severe (see link). Very warm and humid weather continue just through tomorrow. Wednesday through Sunday look a little cooler and definitely less humid with lots of sunshine for everyone to enjoy. Unless you’re working indoors, in which case, why not leave the building for lunch one of these days?

Weather Map of the Day

This map is pretty easy for everyone to figure out – it’s your standard NEXRAD radar map showing the line of storms moving through east-central Wisconsin this morning. It’s got customizable options including showing individual storm track detail, lightning strike display, one-click access to other radar sites in the Midwest, and a variety of other radar maps if you’re interested. I also look at the Radial Velocity maps as those can be interpreted to indicate rotation within a thunderstorm, including spotting early signs of tornado formation.
