Finally, some interesting weather to forecast!
Generally, July through September are the most boring three months to forecast weather, although with the lack of severe weather we had this summer plus the lack of snowstorms we had last winter, I think it has been a boring year to forecast precipitation in Wisconsin! However, most people would think of boring weather as a good thing. While the next few days don’t look too crazy, it should be more interesting compared to what we have had recently.
After the brief round of flurries northern and central Wisconsin had on Wednesday, it looks like thunderstorms are going to reenter the forecast for the first time in quite a while. High pressure will keep Wisconsin sunny and dry today, but a developing low pressure system out west will bring a soaking rainfall to the state beginning tonight and lasting through Sunday morning. The Storm Prediction Center has even put the southern half of Wisconsin under the “slight risk” category for severe weather tomorrow with the possibility for strong winds, hail and maybe even some localized flooding. Bring your umbrella if you are going anywhere local, as you are going to need it!
