Cloudy, windy and warmer with scattered thunderstorms through the weekend.
A slow-moving area of low pressure, currently centered in Nebraska and the western Dakotas, is going to give us some fits this weekend. Warmer air is going to soar into our area from the south, ahead of the storm system, which should bring our high temperatures into the 70s this weekend, then back down into the lower 50s early next week after the system passes.
During its several-day stay, we can expect scattered thunderstorms developing ahead of the front, starting late today and continuing through tomorrow, Sunday, and into early Monday. Some of the storms on Sunday could be severe so keep an eye to the sky in case threatening weather approaches! A rare day-two high risk area has been issued by the Storm Prediction Center for Saturday to our southwest, so this system is going to have a lot of punch to it!
