Voice to Text……….
.Looking down into the Sea this morning I can’t see any clouds at all.
Looking out into the Pacific I can’t see anything but a few whispys along the Baja west coast. There is however a small fog bank in the Laguna area just south of Turtle Bay. The web cam at Baja Joe’s at La Ventana is also showing a fog bank off shore, out toward the island. I can see the sun raising over the top of the fog bank.
Looking south to the Riviera this morning I can see that there are no clouds along that stretch of Mexico either.
Looking further south to the Tehuantepec there is a GALE EVENT forecast to occur in 24 hours. Northerly winds will surge across the isthmus with a cold front that will be moving across the Gulf of Mexico. This weekend gale force winds with 10-13 ft seas are forecast for Tehuantepec bay.
Looking further south to the ITCZ. I can see there is just some rather spotty moderate convection along the zone this morning.
So it looks like the only thing going on in our hood is a Tehuantepecker brewing this weekend.
Looking north now to the west coast of America. Actually before looking at the west coast the mid west had what is called a Mega-storm yesterday that is worthy of mentioning.
Tornadoes, violent thunderstorms, and torrential rains swept through a large portion of the nation's midsection yesterday, thanks to the strongest storm ever recorded in the Midwest. NOAA's Storm Prediction Center logged 24 tornado reports and 282 reports of damaging high winds, and the storm continues to produce a wide variety of wild weather, with tornado watches posted for Mississippi, Alabama, and Georgia, a blizzard warning for North Dakota, high wind warnings for most of the upper Midwest, and near-hurricane force winds on Lake Superior.
The mega-storm reached peak intensity late yesterday afternoon over Minnesota, resulting in the lowest barometric pressure readings ever recorded in the continental United States, except for from hurricanes and nor'easters affecting the Atlantic seaboard.
The geniuses of this amazing storm was in the Gulf of Alaska. It was the storm that moved down the west coast last week wetting California before moving off into the Great Basin and points east.
This morning there is another big honker that has moved down from the Gulf of Alaska and is currently sitting off the northern California coast and will arrive on shore today, most likely delaying game two of the World Series in San Francisco tonight. Last nights game originally thought to be a pitchers duel turned out to be a slug fest with San Francisco beating Texas 11-7.
This storm is forecast to bring heavy rain, perhaps flooding to northern California and snow in the mountains. It will stall today into tomorrow and then will move across northern California through the weekend with high pressure again building over the west early next week.
Southern California could see a shower or two from this system this weekend but not likely.
For the southwest high pressure will bring mostly clear skies and a warming trend through tomorrow with above normal daytime highs. As that storm moves past to the north on Saturday it will cool things down a bit and cause some breezy conditions for the southwest on Saturday.
After the system passes to the east high pressure will again rebuild over the southwest resulting in near normal daytime highs by Halloween day.
Back down here in Baja today most sunrise temps were up a degree or two this morning and today’s highs will be in the mid to high 80s today.
Northerly winds will be moderate and it looks like we will be having abundant sunshine again today. The El Burro Chamber of Commerce giving today 4 stars.
