After the Sonrisa Weather it’s back to work.

The following is from my daily ham radio Report

.Looking down into the Sea this morning it looks like it is the only place in the entire Eastern Pacific Basin that does not have any clouds. Most of these clouds are being pumped out from convection along the ITCZ. The flow north and northeast pretty much filling the entire basin with moisture laden clouds.
The big question is: Will Baja or the Riviera see any? It looks like the cape area and from Mazatlan to about Cabo Corrienties are seeing patches of fluffys pass over right now.
Off the Baja west coast there is a large band of clouds about a 1000 miles long and 500 miles wide that is slowly approaching the coast. It looks to me that it will slide along the coast and slowly move over the peninsula later today and Christmas day. These clouds are not part of a jet stream however there is a north/south 125 mph jet that is running from about Nevada down the west coast of the mainland. I’m not sure how much this will influence the flow of clouds along the west coast of Baja. Probably not much, so I would expect to see the peninsula and at least the northern Riviera to have overcast skies over Christmas. We’ll see?
Looking south now to the Riviera: I can see patches of fluffys passing over from about Mazatlan to Manzanillo this morning and even a few over the Socorros this morning. Lots of moisture in these clouds so a shower or two is entirely possibly again today.
Looking now to the Tehuantepec: 15-20 knot winds are forecast for the next couple of days.
Looking now at the ITCZ: moderate to strong convections is evident all along the ITCZ this morning. As I mentioned all this moisture is being pumped into the Eastern Pacific Basin.
So, looking north now to the west coast of America where building high pressure will provide clear skies over most of the western conus for Christmas and into the weekend.
Off the west coast I can see the next couple of storms that will be moving into southern California starting Monday. That upper ridge will then break down and bring a chance of showers to the southwest Monday or Tuesday.
In the meantime: Freezing overnight temps are on tap for most of the southwest.
Back down here in Baja today: it will continue to be gusterly in the Sea today in the 20-30 knot ranges south to the East Cape. It looks like the strongest will be in the central Sea. It looks like Christmas Day will be about the same. We will most likely see passing fluffys today as that band of clouds slides down the outside of the peninsula. As far as cloud cover on Christmas: My crystal ball was real fuzzy on that.

73s & MERRY CHRISTMAS Y’all

Don't chisel these forecasts in stone. This is an Amateur Endeavor. They, however, are normally very close.
