Turn Around, Don't Drown!

Did you know more people are killed in their cars from flash flooding than from tornadoes? Water higher than the average street curb can actually pick up and move a car. So if water is covering the road, might be a good idea to turn around. Even if it's not deep anough to drown you, the hassle of getting your car fixed just isn't worth the risk. Once again am probably preachin to the choir, with the exception of "Storm Chasers" (and I say this with a big mischivious grin), most folks that would be reading weather blogs probably have more common sense about these sort of things than the average person. So please help educate others and maybe save a life. North Texas was rockin and rollin last night. Had almost made it home when the squall line hit Lewisville. Was a bit after seven, visibilty was near zero heading straight west and at the 121/3040 overpass it sounded like a jet plane was on top of my car and it was bouncing up and down a bit. Thought to myself "Oh darn! (or something like that)". Made it over the bridge pulled into the first driveway and snugged my car up against the east side of the GoodYear shop with a few other cars until it calmed down some out there. Lot's of limbs and one tree on the road into my neighborhood. Some of my neighbors siding had come loose, but my little bonsai in training was still potted and perched on top of the porch rail.

Thanks Amy! Hi Skyepony. Ya know some of the blogs, like yours for instance Skyepony, take forever to show up when I click on them. When the screen save comes up I hit the "back" button and go somewhere else.

Glad to hear the little bonsai was all good.. Before I started planting sunflowers on a fence line, they'd usually get flattened before their season was through.
