Mortgage Scams

By: GardenGrrl, 7:55 AM GMT on May 27, 2008

A lot of people are feeling the crunch from the economy and finding it hard to make their mortgage payments. Enter the circling vultures.

The latest scams are called Foreclosure Rescues. The scammers, some professional con artists, others real estate agents or loan officers gone bad have come up with a new scheme to part you from your house and money.

Advertising in news papers or on the internet these people will often promise to get your home refinanced, clear your credit rating and help pay down all your debt. They only ask that you temporarely sign over the deed to your house. Sometimes they will just give you mountains of forms to sign and fast talk you all the way through them. They neglect to make clear that your are transfering the deed to your home.

Once they get the deed to your home they have a "straw buyer" take out a huge new mortgage on it for more than you payed for it. Then they pocket the difference and say see-ya later sucker. If you get your deed back it will be with larger payments and debt than you started with.

Facing foreclosure on ones home can cause rational people to make "panic" decisions. These vultures feed on peoples fear and offer all kinds of salvation and reassurance. The bottom line, investigate before you sign. If a credit repair "professional" pressures you into acting quickly, that is a big red flag. If they have lot's of paperwork but would rather verbally explain it than have you take it home and carefully read it, big red flag.

You may not be able to find a legitimate financial institution to help you save your home. That is an unfortunate thing that happens sometimes. Just don't let these jerks make your credit worse or take your house from you.

By: GardenGrrl, 9:04 AM GMT on May 19, 2008

Twas a warm and sunny day at Scarborough Faire. Sounds of costumed folks hailing each other with G'day M'lord or me lady danced through the aire. Tis magik it is at these renaissance faires.

The falconers were there and here is their story told only with pictures cause words loose their glory.

Lead first by brave knights so scroll down

And enjoy!

To Do List...A poem of sorts

By: GardenGrrl, 8:46 AM GMT on May 08, 2008

I live by lists. Otherwise things would never get done. Bits and scraps of paper everywhere with words pending and words crossed off. Sometimes there needs to be prioritizing. How do you find time to embrace life?

To Do Gardengrrl

Spring has woke the flowers
And reminds me there is so much to do.
So today,
I will not watch the TV news.

Because I am busy.

I said that I would embrace life today.
Now I have so much to do.

First there is my kitchen window
I have to stand in front of and look through.
Outside the kitchen window are some bird feeders
Where lot's of birds fly to and meet.
Sometimes I give them silly names,
Sometimes I just watch them eat.

Next the yard is beckoning for me to wander round
And smile at the miracles
Of new plants breaking ground.

Then I have to pet my dog.
Did you know I found him at the pound?
He's been loyal company all the time he's been around.

There is another "To-Do" list that I have written
And you have found.
It says chores and paperwork, responsibilities abound.

And I will get around to it,
Oh yes that is true.

But only when I finish playing
With Syd the cockatoo.
