Hello and welcome to my blog, this will be my first post under my new handle. Some of you will recognize me right away or know me as GT and can probably tell by the picture :) My real name is Caleb, feel free to call me by that or GT or my full name whichever is more convenient to you.
Now for some tropics talk and the real reason why I am here to learn more about Hurricanes.
Tonight as you can see we have Tropical Depression 4-E or TD 4-E in the East Pacific or EPAC.
Just to get your bearings the present movement of TD 4-E is towards the North at 10 mph.
This movement should continue throughout the day with a gradual turn toward the Northwest. Gradual strengthening is anticipated and we should see TD-4 E declared Tropical Storm Dalila later today by the National Hurricane Center.
A TROPICAL STORM WARNING IS IN EFFECT FOR...
* THE SOUTHWEST COAST OF MEXICO FROM PUNTA SAN TELMO TO MANZANILLO
A TROPICAL STORM WATCH IS IN EFFECT FOR...
* THE SOUTHWEST COAST OF MEXICO FROM NORTH OF MANZANILLO TO LA
Now to my favorite part of tracking tropical systems. The Computer Models :)
There seems to be a general consensus for TD 4-E to stay offshore. Unless you are a fan of the LBAR.
There also seems to be a general consensus for TD 4-E to strengthen into Tropical Storm Dalila but not make it to Hurricane strength. Unless you are a fan of the HWRF. I'm going out on a limb and side with the HWRF on this one.
Well that is all I have for tonight. Please feel free to leave a comment. Compliments and criticism are both welcomed on my blog. Thanks and have a goodnight.
