Clear, calm, with a -9C for a temp. Temp to rise to near 0 as the day moves along, another weather event creeping towards the area, either snow or rain.

Lots of vehicles going by this morning making thier way to the wharf. Should be one of the very few good mornings on the water since the lobster season opened five weeks ago.

Woodlot still there, amazingly still water in some spots below the snowcover. Able to get around in some locations, one part of the road still refuses to freeze enough to hold ATV and a loat of wood. Even managed to get one trailer load of hachmatack in the yard.

Kids now beginning to count the days, and speculate out loud of what might be in store for them on Christmas Day.

Rob, good afternoon from the UK.

I read your blogs every day and am always amazed at the words you use to describe things! What is 'hatchmatack'?

I will be over to Newfoundland at end of January so I hope the snow stays put enough for the snowmobile. That is the visitors hope of Atlantic Canada, I dont know if I could cope with your conditions for a whole winter!
Over here on the south coast of England if we get an inch of snow the whole place comes to a standstill!!!

Good Morning Rob
Pople are having problems with thin ice here too. 2 trucks have sunk in the Red River as the ownwers were tring thier hand at ice fishing. I guess the snow cover makes a good insulator.
Have a good day
