MOTHERS DAY, MAY 11/14

By: GRANDMANAN , 11:14 AM GMT on May 11, 2014

Sun attempting to make an appearance, a bit overcast and hazy, calm, temp already 10C, expect to make into mid double digits by noon. Similar conditions for the next few days, moisture by end of the week.

A few birds around, not many for sure, apparently no amount of nesting birds on the outer islands evident. Nothing for them to eat, no fish to amount to anything, no garbage dumps for them to forage for a meal.

Lobster catch remains a positive subject of conversation, level of catch goes up, and the price continues to slide, still around the $5 per lb mark.

First BBQ of the season, to mark Mothers Day, did remember to check the gas tank, should be good to go.

Hi, ho, Rob.

Ya'll sure have been busy. Concerts, Costco and Lord knows what all else!

I'm glad to hear that the Adventure is back on duty. I can understand the anxiety of the locals regarding how well this latest repair is going to do. Time will tell, I suppose.

The weather here is just perfect, though we could use some rain. We had some temps in the 90's week before last but they've moderated. Upper 70's to upper 80's. The humidity is low, which makes all the difference.

Hubby has been outside mowing the yard and doing some trimming. I repotted a few things yesterday afternoon, then sat outside doing some birdwatching. All the feeders out there attract quite the crowd in the early mornings and later afternoons.

I really must remember to put out the fancy soaps and guest towels by the birdbath!
