MONDAY, MARCH 3/14

By: GRANDMANAN , 11:40 AM GMT on March 03, 2014

Cold, and will become colder for next day or so, currently -11C, will make to -8C then by afternoon start a downward mode with -25C mentioned as an overnight low. Currently calm, however northerly to accompany the minus temps 25-30KPH wind-chill will be a factor.

Snow showers forecast yesterday, continued for most of the day, surprising the amount of snow that did fall. By dark the roads were bear, combination of salt and plough managed to keep things in great shape.

Rob travelling this afternoon, how long he remains aboard not yet determined.

Afternoon CHUNKS sun is now out with a modest -9C the temp, but will soon start to decline big time overnight, and for next couple of days. Agreed find it hard to believe this is March, first week doesn't appear as if we will be getting much change.

The ADVENTURE made one trip over to Blacks Harbour this morning, engine trouble reported to be on one engine shortly after going by Swallow Tail. No trips for today, no word on what the schedule will look like for the next day or so. Not much information coming from COASTAL, I suppose they have to evaluate what they got before making a statement, however a little update would be nice.

Travel seems to be the thing at the moment have had a good lobster season, combined with a hard winter makes the decision for folks to find warmer weather very easy. No desire myself, but those that do have great weather to escape.

Stay warm will be the end of the week before things begin to warm up even a little bit.
