The term ARTIC VORTEX has become part of the weather discussion this past few weeks. The Vortex is now paying another visit to this part of the world, and appears reluctant to retreat north for the next several days. Lots of daylight, however the minus 10C pushed around by westerly 30KPH gives a significant Wind Chill, no change for most of the next week or so, clear and cold.

Scallop quota found for the four days of this week boats at it yesterday, one working in the harbour most of the night getting the days catch shucked. Good to see there is a quantity around, plus the price remains on the high side.

Spring Break next week, lots of folks heading south this week, Rob will be home getting his laundry, vehicle needs looked after. When he returns the school year getting very short.

We are getting 'vortexed' as well. In other words, it is stinking cold. Hard to believe we could hike in warm weather on Sunday with just a fallish type coat. Arg. I guess it was just a teaser to keep us honest.

Finally made contact with my friend in Seal Cove. She was still having a problem with that darn foot so had to attend the hospital for further research. Now seems to be on the mend. Thank Heavens. It seems a lot of folk have been stopping in to help them in their hour of need and they are so appreciative.

Cody back at work. First day had to yank a transmission. :) He said: Nothing like getting back to it in fine style. Covered with trany fluid within an hour. Fingers crossed for a successful block 3 exam.

Well, a roast to put in the slow cooker so must get to. Stay warm and talk soon.

Word. Chunks.

Mornin DAVID, no difference in weather conditions this little bit north of ya, cold for the remainder of the week, but clear. Currently NW 20-25KPH, windchill in the -teens somewhere. Local scallop quota allowing the boats to fish inside the 'Line" till 6PM Thursday, very cold today, however quantity and quality helping one through the elements for sure.

Single gang boats still onshore, for the most part, some have a few to tend, but not the full gang. Price remains good, word not too many critters in the pipeline, crate run and tankhouse shipments going fairly regular.

Do you have any date in mind to get back at it, or just watch the weather.

Enjoy your meeting, I would like to attend just to listen, but never have always good to learn of the similarities both groups have to contend with. At one time met with U.S. Border Patrol types on a fairly regular basis, expense claim always said "to meet and discuss mutual and overlapping problems" , enjoy.
