THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 6/14

By: GRANDMANAN , 11:49 AM GMT on February 06, 2014

Snow quit overnight, beginning to clear with wind 20-25KPH from NW, temp a cold -13C feels like -20C. Moderation of temp slight, with a high -7C then back down into double digits overnight. Clear and cold for the next few days, indications from CNN Maritimes will have major snow fall on Sunday. A weather system thought to be hitting New England tracking more north, at this time.

Snowfall on the field not significant, however around the tree line could be some drifts. Snow fell for the day and well into the night. Winter still has a great hold on the Bermuda of the Maritimes.

Local traffic seems very quiet none going by the house to the wharf.

Dear Rob:

I shovelled once at 5:00 ish and then again at 8:30 p.m. last night. By the time I finished the driveway I had to do the deck again. An exercise in futility except maybe helped the waistline?

What is with this weather?

Cody is starting to feel the pinch of not working but rather going to school. It doesn't take long of driving back and forth to empty the coffers. Arg. Apprentice are eligible for unemployment whilst going to school, but of course, if the government officials can screw up anything - they will. Thus, his scrills are long in coming. I feel the need to dole out - once again.

Daughter is in big upset due to the fact that a very good friend - met in Thialand - took the Neknomination challenge on the Facebook - and died due to it. Age 22. Another senseless death. His funeral was streamed on the computer today from Ireland. I would just love to have the so called progress in computer imaging be sent back to the nether land. This world is just not that great for the younger set - not like our day for sure - so much harder for them. BLARG

Well, just back from yoga so time to start finishing tasks at home for the night.

Have a great day tomorrow and pray for no more snow for a while.

Word. Chunks.

Mornin CHUNKS, and a cold one it is, NW breeze giving a windchill factor to rival what is on the prairie, damned cold. Clear now everywhere you look is a scene fit for a Christmas Card. Snowed heavy until at least mid-night, then let up and temp dropped to where we are now.

Traffic beginning to move about, roads are good shape, don't know when the road crew got off them overnight, but no problem getting around this morning.

Emily still on the side, getting a few hours babysitting, tankhouse expected to pick up one of these days. Rob enjoying his Course more all the time, seems to be working on his own more and getting confident, should say more confident, in his abilities. Otherwise things quiet for the next little while, expect things will gradually pick up as the weather improves.

Have a good one.

Rob
