THURSDAY, JANUARY 23/14

Did have blowing snow and cold, snow let up overnight, currently cold,-16C with a draft from NW giving a windchill in -20C range. Supposed to clear with sunny periods for next couple of days, moderate on the weekend and return of cold temps for next week. Wind kept the snow moving off the yard into the bush, no shovelling to look after.

Indications the scalloping stood down till tally confirmed. Lots of scallops in areas historically not the case, under new regulations difficult to get hands on a few off the boat. Each pound has to be accounted and a frig to the skipper to accommodate a few lbs here and there.

Afternoon CHUNKS, and a fine one it has become, albeit still cold. The forecasted wind has not visited as yet, bright sun, a sharp contrast to this time yesterday.

The boat didn't make her last trip yesterday, blowing a gale by dark, well into the evening before tings let up. The snow cover didn't amount to much, should be able to get in the woods this weekend, best get at it or will have to be buying wood for the next year.

Rob home for laundry run, put the touch on Nan for home cooked food, and a little extra cash for sure.

Stay warm.
