NEW YEARS EVE will be a cold one, currently clear, -15C, northerly 10-15KPH giving a windchill factor in the -23C range. Temp will rise slightly before going down hard overnight. No respite from similar conditions till the weekend. A snow event for the start of the weekend, unknown at this time exactly what path it will take, possible it will move far enough of shore to avoid major snowfall.
As daylight arrives vapour in the harbour getting higher. A combination of wind and very cold temps will make it difficult for any work to be done on the water for the next few days.
Still a number of homes without power, albeit far less than a few days ago, if you are one of those still out not much comfort. NB POWER saying all homes should be back on line by this evening.
