THURSDAY, DECEMBER 26/13

By: GRANDMANAN , 12:25 PM GMT on December 26, 2013

Overcast, wind coming up with the sun, perfectly calm prior to sunrise, easterly beginning supposed to swing SW 20-25KPH by this afternoon. Temp -2C to rise on the plus side with snow or rain showers in the forecast, clear and cool for the weekend.

Rob was on standby for duty this morning, no call, any boats working today will be much later before they show up. Wouldn't be a good day on the water, but there has been very few of them since opening of Lobster Season.

Christmas Day a good day, family and hangers on coming and going through the day. Dinner early afternoon, things put away and recliner ironed out by early evening. Got rested enough to make to the bunk a bit early.

The Power Outages on the mainland slow going getting upperhand, reports can't do the damage justice, have to be seen to get a full understanding of the effort the crews have to go through to restore power.

Afternoon David, good to learn you and yours are surviving the ice conditions. Note on here from brother in St. Stephen telling they just got lights yesterday after four days.

Wind swung to the south now, attempting to snow, but very near rain, temp just below the freezing mark, overall not pleasant.

Fishery quiet today, but Tony and his son egging, can find a spot in the lee to work, but still unpleasant. The eggs go to Portland for process then to the overseas Asian market, price remains good and quality also.

A day to enjoy leftovers, if I can talk myself into it will take the ATV in the woods and scout out where I will manufacture next years wood. However the conversation to go not going well, chair is mighty comfortable.

Stay warm.

Hi, Rob.

It sounds like you folks had a good day yesterday.

Our Christmas was pretty quiet. Just Hubby and myself, though his younger brother stopped by for a bit about mid-afternoon.

We will be heading inland and westward tomorrow morning to visit my aunt and uncle. It's about a 3 1/2 hour drive up. We'll spend the night and come back Saturday afternoon.
