The high winds and rain overnight have quit, a draft NW attempting to clear the skies, with sun expected by this afternoon. Currently a modest 12C to rise a few degrees before dropping to lower single digits overnight.

The fire going for the first time yesterday didn't take long before windows had to be raised to get some heat relief. The fire will be a requirement with more regularity, especially overnight, tis the season.

GRAND MANAN ADVENTURE between here and NFLD, expected to be back on the run late in the day on Thursday.

Dear Rob:

If your wind-storm (I call it that loosely) was as bad as ours, or worse, it must have been a dilly. Over-night it was impossible to sleep soundly. We would have consistent wind and then we would have gusts of wind that would literally shake the whole house. Thank God it was a Southerly influence. Anyway, I fell asleep at 5:30 a.m., only to be awoken at 6:30 p.m. by the alarm clock. God! At work for about one and a half hours and the sun came out in brilliance and - it was actually warm out.

This necessitated having to do outside work for a good part of the afternoon. Greenhouse swept out and tidied enough to start putting in all the garden sculpture, etc. Tools not going to be used are hung up, and some of the sun cloth taken down. So, it was a pretty good idea accomplishment day, even if I didn't want to do it. Next will be endless piles of leaves. If it keeps blowing South though maybe - for once - the leaves will all go to the neighbours. That is not being mean! Every year it is the neighbours, both sides, who don't pick up their leaves and they blow into my yard . Blarg.

Went to what I thought would be a gentle yoga class. How hilarious is that? There is apparently no such thing. Pretzels would be envious of me. :)

Well, I am babysitting the kids pup, so better go see what trouble he is in to.

Have a great evening, or day, if your reading this tomorrow.
