A great Sunday morning in commence, bright sun, temp 14C will rise to low 20's, total calm, harbour resembles a millpond at the moment. Possible weather to change to showers late in the day. Similar conditions for the upcoming week, temps modest, certainly nothing forecast to be high.

The ROTARY FESTIVAL has been a great success, can't recall ever seeing so many folks gathered in one location on Grand Manan. The gathering was all day, many events and the Market lots to draw folks, of course the weather co-operated made a big difference. FESTIVAL concludes this evening with a piano concert, have heard as many as fifteen pianos participating.

Seiners have been getting their quota of herring, in past years they have been scrambling to do so. Lots reported off shore, don't believe the weirs have had great success, but getting some.

Glad to hear that the Rotary Festival was a success.

Afternoon visit with relatives is a 'go.' We'll all meet about 2:00.

It's going to be HOT here. Heat indices are expected to reach 101-106F for a few hours this afternoon.

Hope your Sunday is an enjoyable one.

Sounds like a great weekend on GM. Weather does play such an important part in any community endeavors.

We started hauling in the fog yesterday, went to sunny, back to rainy and then finally sunny for the last part of the day. Heavy showers accompanied dinner. This August thus far has been a weather disappointment.

Next weekend we have the Cranberry Folk Festival on Saturday. It is hard to have multiple day events on Islesford as there is not enough room to put up visiting guests. Last folk festival was 2 years ago and a good time had by all.

Good news about the herring resource in your part of the world. Not much around shore here. In the lobster world inshore areas where historically we have done really well early on, nothing to speak of, actually a large disappointment. Bigger catches seem to be coming from deeper water. AS the volume of lobster caught increase, price goes down but is above last years lows as of today. One tuna landed that I have heard off in this area in Bar Harbor.
