WEDNESDAY, JULY 10/13

By: GRANDMANAN , 10:54 AM GMT on July 10, 2013

Overcast, humid, a temp of 15C might climb to 20C, according to the forecast. Definite appearance and feel for the rain forecast for much later in the day. Moisture the order of the week it appears as of this moment.

Local news in the fishery fairly quiet, doesn't appear as if any netting of groundfish in works. Scuttlebutt indicates even if there were any amount the price would not be sufficient to make it worth while. See some local signage for fresh haddock, and Pollock, probably from Novie.

Morning David, a humid one underway, no wind, the Bay resembles a millpond on my little tour this morning. Temps about where one would want them for the remainder of the day, cooler in the evening.

Seems your prices are holding, but surmise the better prices indicates low catch. Haven't heard of any word from the 'grey zone' efforts, however a fair number of boats are fishing.

Tony and Jeremy have set their halibut trawl, but no word on how things are going with them. Local guys with crab license setting their gear this week, price in the $.60 range, a good price if there is any amount.

Enjoy the change in the weather.
