Fog, thick enough to spoon, calm, a humid 8C, slated to hit high double digits this afternoon. Rain/showers for the weekend with good temps, our spring might have arrived.

Emily has a shift at Boys & Girls Club today, then a weekend at Quispam, in harness next week. Rob getting a few hours, and preparation for Grad is moving forward.

Smolts travelling almost every trip on the ferry, several hundred thousand destined to go in the water over next few weeks. Space on the ferry near a premium with trucks coming and going, also lobster shipments picking up, things are beginning to come alive.

Dear Rob:

You are right on the 'tinder dry'. I have a crew of men putting a road in through my woods right now and I read them the riot act that there would be zero smoking - except in their trucks during lunch, or whatever. I am a rotten boss but want them to have some woods to come back to. Hopefully, this weekends rain will come to fruition. Please God!

So glad to hear that Em got the Boys and Girls club job again. Let's be real - bad enough trying to get a job on the mainland let alone a small island. She will also enjoy working with Joanne. She is the best person ever and will not be using the whip. :0 Rob also, no stranger to hard work, will be glad of the work. He is going to NBCC next year, right?

Yesterday I hand shovelled probably two yards of top soil and half a hard of compost - plus, I rebuilt one rock wall made of granite. I am now admiting that I am not as young as I once was. I had to soak in a hot tub and this morning still feeling the pain. TOO BAD - I have a full day outside today before the rain hits. That being said ....

hope you see the sun and talk soon. Word.

A foggy good morning to yea, muggy already this morning, weather pattern is moving from the northerly influence to a southerly flow.

A bad fire up the road from you, things are much drier than one think. The local Fire Dept have been in the woods once this past week, fortunate to be able to get it under control before the fire was able to get into the woods. Lots of deadfalls and thick stuff for fuel if it ever got going, not good.

Cody, like all our young people it seems, has to consider moving west for opportunities, not much going on in our neck of the woods to enable them to stay. My career path went through Manitoba for twenty-five plus years, but eventually made it 'home'.

Emily has an opportunity to work at local Garden Centre starting next week, has had some babysitting gigs and Boys & Girls Club come on in late June(that is the plan at least). She will have good opportunity to supplement her cash flow for UNB. Rob working a few hours, but has a good opportunity to lots of hours once the Rockweed Harvest starts in a week or so.

Have a good one.
