Looking across the harbour decieving of what this way comes once again. Clear, a sllight draft NW, templ a cool -7C. However to change overnight to another visit from a n'oreaster complete with snow and gale force winds for most of tomorrow. Seems 2012 not going out without some acknowledgement it was here.

Emily called this morning, not doing so well, jaws have swollen and more pain, just as predicted. Conferring with nan to get some reassurance things are unfolding as they should, still not interested in relocating households, till she has to midweek.

Some snowcover around the island, nothing like on the mainland. Temps and conditions like this might be able to consider entering the woods for a little workout knocking down some trees for next year supply.

Poor Miss Em. Just keep reassuring her that in a few days, the swelling will go down and the pain will start easing off. To take her pain meds as prescribed. If they make her sleepy, so much the better. Time passes faster! And remind her that she won't look like Alvin the Chipmunck forever. (It is rather horrifying, that image in the mirror! - 'YIKES! Is that ME?!)

She's probably hungry, too. Soup is fine for a while but you do start craving something more substantial. She needs to be sure she doesn't jump the gun and move to solids too soon. Like I did. Luckily, I didn't have any after affects, other than throbbing jaws.

Hope ya'll have everything battened down. 'Tis the season.

It looks like you are in for a blizzard. Stay safe. We did not get the wind but we have over a foot of snow here in Niagara Falls. Light snow today. We get packed up and leave tomorrow for Florida, hope this storm is past the route we will be on. We always hit lake effect snow along Lake Erie from Buffalo to Erie Pa, but hopefully when we turn south it will get better. Next post will be from Florida.

This weather must hold up building the senior centre and the lobster fishermen.

Glad you had a nice Christmas. We had 16 here ,very busy and tiring, but lots of fun. My daughter Laura and her two little ones are sick now, hope we didn't catch the bug.

Hope Emily has lots of pain pills and putting ice paks on her jaw.
