The weather remains, unsettled in a big way, NE gale force at the moment, retreiving wood from the verandah gives the thought one on the tarmac at the airport as a jet prepares for take off. Temp a pleasant 4C, but feels much cooler, rain overnight, let up for the moment. The wind and weather conditions to remain similar for next few days.

Emily below decks, pretty well spent from exams, and farewells from her posse. Trip from Fredericton just in time, snow started as we left the city, places slush on the road, however nearing St.John rain the order of the day. Managed to make the 5:30PM Crossing, trip great given the wind direction and speed. Very little movement, maintained the schedule, impressive, previous vessels may not have been on the run in similar conditions.

No school message this morning, we are in rain, however snow conditions on the mainland have getting around difficult if not impossible in some locations.

Afternoon CHUNKS, wet, windy and cool here on the Bermuda of the Martimes, appears much of Charlotte County is shutdown due to wet snow, and a fair amount of it. Some reports of power outages, not good no matter how you look at it.

Emily arose shortly after noon, still a bit owly, will improve as the day moves along, believe some hair appointment is in order this afternoon. One of the perks of having your grandmother attend the same salon,at the same time.

Rob has an extra day at home due to weather, on the mainland, certainly other than being nasty not a problem for travel around here.

Hope the wind changes a bit, most of my decorations have transferred to different locations on the lawn, and some of the lights on the trees are dangling. Tis the season for sure.

Have a good one.

Dear Rob:

Glad to hear you made it last night! Not sure what you have in the wheels dept. but regardless you would have been hard pressed to go anywhere today on the mainland. No plows to speak of and heavy, heavy, snow - combined with the slush on the road from last night's event = deadly.

Emily will sleep for two days - off and on. Sarah did and then the draw to see the 'friends' took over. Then it is every man for himself - kids coming and going all day long.

Off to do yet more Christmas chores. Keep it real and off the roads - if possible.

Have a good one. Word.

Mornin David, appears your Christmas Plans well in hand.
Weather today fierce, we are having rain, on the mainland more than signifigant levels of snowfall are reported, no school in our District, an early Xmas Gift for the students, no reason not to travel on our roads.
Ferry made the trip across this morning, has tied up for at least the next go round in Blacks Harbour, can only imagine she found the odd pot hole between here and there this morning. As I mentioned she did yeoman service on my trips yesterday, very impressed. A few youngsters on didn't bother the majority, however one very young fellow had to give in to the motion. A brave youngster, he would give it up, smile and do it again, no wimpering almost apologetic that he couldn't help himself. His dad was with him, this seemed to make it alright for the little guy, no fun for sure.
Our Emily in her bunk, the exam pace more exhausting than she knows, Donna will get some food into her, combined with the nanny thing she get her on deck in short order.
Hope you made the trip to the U.S. without getting wet.
