Clear, persistant northerly breeze, 10-15KPH, a cool 0C, temp to rise mid single digits as the day moves along. Similar conditions with a let up on the wind for the next several days.

Yesterday managed to haul 365 traps, between tide and daylight ten remains for an overset. Had a good crew, able to keep a pretty good pace on the short lines first thing in the morning. Cool and slatty, must have put on a few extra miles trying to remain upright. Listening to the radio catch very disappointing in lots of locations, so bad some boats called it quits early, and ties up. Tides still full, hope is they aren't crawling due to the tide conditions. My body hasn't rejected me totally, however they way the muscles feel it is strongly considering such a thing. Going 362 days between such effort, along with age, quite a challenge for the frame.

Rob off already to deal with last nights purchases, shipping sometime today is the usual. Fresh lobster not an inventory item to have hanging around for any length of time.

Afternoon Dar, too early for price, one of the only commodities that I am aware of where the seller dosen't know the price till he gets his cheque, next week. As to the quantity unwritten rule states no discussion of actual numbers are allowed. Suffice to say our boat did well, if the horror stories I am hearing are correct over the fleet we did very well.

Your place has had more than ocean view this past week with full tides being pushed by NE winds you guys almost qualified for oceanfront. No problems with the water just lots of it in the Marsh at highwater.

Have a good one.

Afternoon David, my body is beginning to let me move around without too much problem. I suppose if I was at it for a couple of days might be tough enough to stand it, however can't get the gumption to give it a try. Love to go, however great to be ashore after the Setting Day and first day of hauling is done.

Yes quite a contrast in the fishery approach, when an Enterprise comes on the market locally an individual must look at a minimum of $500K to get in. This will give him a single license and possibly boat and gear, in various degrees of condition. The price of landing a lb of lobster combined with the uncertainty of the industry makes the desire to jump in as a young person with this huge debt very difficult.

Rob at the Lobster Car yesterday, the catch goes beyond disappointing to the level of discouraging. The only redeeming thoughts at the moment is the full tides, if this is not the cause for poor catch the local fishery in trouble. At least the weather forecast is half decent to give the guys an opportunity to overhaul gear, and hope to catch up once the lobsters do start to crawl.
